The friendly, funny burro is found in history doing many things. He has discovered mines, found water, and brought lost miners back to civilization. Not only that, but he has refused bad water and unsafe trails and has gone around poisonous snakes. The burro played a big park in the taming of the west. He carried huge loads of camping equipment, merchandise, or ore up mountains, across deserts, and through streams. With his surefootedness, intelligence, small size, ability to eat almost anything, and unlimited curiosity, he became a natural partner for the prospector.
