This week's release in the Knott's 100th Pin Series will have you JUMPING for joy!
There's a special feeling you get when you see that giant "K" high in the sky. It means you're almost to Knott's Berry Farm! Since June 12, 1976, the giant neon "K" atop the Sky Jump has been a flashing, animated beacon, visible day or night for miles. Rising 235 feet into the air, the Sky Jump was the centerpiece of the brand new "Roaring 20's Airfield" expansion of Knott's. Themed around a bu
stling airfield, the land ushered in a new era of fun at the Farm. Featuring thrill rides like the Loop Trainer and the Motorcycle Chase, the Sky Jump towered above them all and offered guests a chance to ride to the top before plummeting back down to earth with the help of a brightly colored parachute. Though the parachute Sky Jump attraction closed in the 1990's, guests can still get a breathtaking view of Knott's and Orange County with a ride on the Sky Cabin, a much more serene ride than the parachute. Knott's proudly honors the Sky Jump with this special collector pin destined to bring back fond memories of that bygone 20's era.

A Top Ten Pin with a sad secret
This pin is very, very unique is a couple of ways. In terms of pure beauty, it’s in the top ten. I love the blue colors contrasted with the red letters. I love the redundant, ground level, upward looking perspective of the pin & backing. The creator of this pin did an excellent job of showing the awesome enormity of that “Sky Jump” Ride - could not possibly have done any better. I also like how the pin shows the Sky Cabin. The raised 3-D Characteristic of the pin adds a tactile dimension. Kudos to Knott’s for the decision to include the Sky Jump in the 100 pin set. But...............this pin carries with it a very sad, morbid distinction. In the first 63 years of Knott’s, this ride was involved with the first death at Knott’s. On a Sunday evening during Halloween Haunt in 1983, a distraught 18 year old committed suicide by jumping off the ride at its very apex.

Memory parade
Arguably the most missed ride the park ever had, which reminds me... Tijuana taxi pin!? I get reasons but i still miss it anyway. Also, mystery lodge? Memories flow from The Farm

The pin arrived all chipped. Terrible quality.

I used to love climbing to the top of the tower in that parachute cage and then falling to the bottom. It was so exhilarating standing up in that cage! I give the pin four stars because mine had a chunk of sky broken out of the pin. I filled it in with the marker and it’s almost as good as new.
