Oh Lordy! This little baby has top 20 if not top 10 potential! It just grabs me emotionally in a couple of ways. With that backing card, it’s the first pin that captures that magical feel of Knott’s at night with its lights, colors and breezy cool air. It’s an emotional trigger of how it feels to experience Knott’s after dark as a place of both shadow and substance. Of things and ideas. A wondrous place whose true boundaries are that of imagination! Of all the things that Knott’s does well, their nighttime lighting skills ( especially the seasonal events) rank near the top. This pin captures a little of that. The pin itself is heavy, twirly, colorful, jewelry studded. It also sets the record for back of the pin inscriptions! Some of the inscriptions I can’t quite decipher. Perhaps it’s the long awaited revelation as to the identity of the Zodiac Killer!!! This pin is also the only one that stands up on its own unassisted - a testimonial to its unique and independent sense of pride.

Good grief
“Good grief” is a very accurate description of what these pins have become. Absolutely no consistency whatsoever in between the way the pins are made and the design of the cards. Some pins just have a vinyl sticker with heat shrink! Even the official Knott’s logo has now been changed on this pin. It also seems like they have run out of ideas. Very frustrating when you are expecting most of all the past shows and attractions to be honored over the past 100 years and 25% of the pins so far have been generic snoopy pins that do nothing to honor Knott’s legacy. I have serious doubts we will be getting any good past attractions such as Corkscrew, XK-1, Gasoline Alley, Tijuana Taxi, Tampico Tumbler, Gran Slammer, Hammerhead, Whirlpool, Perilous Plunge, Windjammer, Riptide, Windseeker, Walter K Steamboat, Knott’s Lagoon, Henry’s Auto Livery, Pacific Pavilion, Seal Pool, Mule Ride just to name a few. We will probably just get more Beary Tales and more pins with Snoopy holding boysenberries.
