Description  more details

The Granddaddy of all Theme Park Haunts got its start on October 26th, 1973. Called Halloween Haunt, the event was put together in weeks and has grown into the largest theme park Haunt in the world. Encompassing nearly every square foot of Knott's Berry Farm, guests may find themselves immersed in a fog, tracked by monsters, or lost in a maze. The scares are plentiful and horrors innumerable! The event, now known as Knott's Scary Farm, is a rite of passage for some. And for others, it's a lifestyle!

Historically significant
This top ten sacred pin does an excellent job of honoring the greatest single creative idea in the history of theme park entertainment - Knott’s Halloween Haunt 1973. That single brilliant idea of Knott’s turned Halloween into a multi month, multi billion dollar cultural phenomenon enjoyed by tens of millions of people annually at theme parks across the country. The visuals of the pin are outstanding. The admission ticket cardboard backing, the orange color coordination, the historical depiction of the first ever Halloween Haunt with the dates and times and cost are all great. The MAD Magazine artwork characterization of Hilda with her souped up broom stick is perfect. Over the years Knott’s entertainment has been phenomenal- annually occupying this slightly edgy netherworld between Disney and Broadway. Staking out it’s rightful claim as creators of some of the best entertainment that America has to offer.

A perfect replica!
This pen is the epitome of the Halloween hunt now known as not scary farm. This is such a great replica of the beginning of something that I bet nobody thought would takeoff the way it did over the years. This pin is very special in my collection and should be to any KBF collector.

Nuthin ’ fancy bout it
However it’s a great pin. Original artwork translated well into pin form. Classic Halloween color palette enamel paint, and a backing card representing the admission ticket is cool.
